Asia Fashion Summit 2011 Held in Singapore

Asia Fashion Summit 2011 will be held on May in Singapore. Asian fashion summit or better known as the AFS is a business conference for the fashion industry in Asia. AFS will offer an excellent platform for fashion industry, especially for countries in the region of Asia, and the fashion designers to gain new knowledge and establish cooperation.

AFS was held on the initiative of Textile and Fashion Federation of Singapore (TaFf) and the plan will deliver more than 30 best fashion experts. At this time AFS event will raise the topic discussion on “The rise of consumerism in Asia” and how it will affect the textile industry, and fashion.

According to the plan, the Asia Fashion Summit 2011 will be attended by delegates include: LVMH Group Director for China, Andrew Wu, Mark Baumann, Head of Visual Merchandising, Lane Crawford, Simon Gaffey, International Director, Karen Millen, Eric Jennings, VP of Men’s Fashion, Saks Fifth Avenue; CEO of FJ Benjamin, Benjamin Douglas; Bryan Riviere Head of Global Sourcing and Manufacturing, Lululemon Athletica, Founder and CEO of HL Group, South Hamilton; and Juliet Warkentin, Global Content Director, WGSN.

Topics that were presented at AFS this time will include a macro view of the strategic issues that can improve business competitiveness in the field of fashion. All topics will be presented in 26 sessions through a combination of presentations from key speakers, question and answer session, panel discussions and debates, and six workshops.

These conference packages at Asia fashion summit 2011 are offered through a distributor, who has been appointed namely, Raffles Design Institute – an institution in the region’s largest private education, which has a network of 36 branches in 14 countries in the Asia Pacific region. AFS this time is the second event and is one of the four pillars of activities under the Asia Fashion Exchange initiative, which aims to make Singapore as Asia’s premier fashion center.
